Danielle Spillman

An elderly white transgender woman holds a large bird in her hands. She is wearing a black hat and black clothing. There are several guitars behind her.

Age 74 • San Francisco, California

Jesse Cobb, co-owner of the guitar store she frequented, said “Danielle was a deeply kind soul with an enormous heart who would always be sure to chat you up about music, the city, life. She really listened, and she really cared. She’s pictured here caring for an injured pigeon, and at a recent RG holiday party—a party she insisted on putting together. She brought a lot of warmth to our curmudgeonly little store, and she will be greatly missed for it.”
