May Pollard

A transgender girl is standing outside with trees behind her. She has short dark hair with bangs and is wearing a pink collard shirt.

Age 16 • Boise, Idaho

May was beloved by her parents and friends. She loved video games, cats, and listening to music. When she came out to her dad, Joseph, she was in the eighth grade. She texted him one day, out of the blue, explaining that she identified as a girl and hoped he would support her. He texted back immediately, saying “I support you, 100%. I want you to be who you are, and it’s not a problem with me.”
