We bonded immediately over Maddie’s favorite author at the time, Brandon Sanderson, and very early on we knew we were going to be in each other’s lives for a long time. I proposed to Maddie at the Renaissance fair, with a sword engraved ‘Marry Me.’ Maddie was always a gal who loved swords.”
